The ideographic writing system of Austro-Hungarian (current Ukraine) Charles K. Bliss (1897-1985). Jewish, Bliss conceived his Blissymbols while a refugee in Shanghai and Sydney with the goal of creating an easy to learn international auxiliary language. He migrated with his wife to Australia in 1946. The scarcely seen Third Edition, this copy with a lengthy inscription by Charles in Blissymbols and English.
Some soiling to edges. A very small stain to crown fore-edge corner of lower pages, interior otherwise clean. The jacket in Poor Condition, water stained and soiled and with a chunk missing from the upper panel. Good Condition. -
