This set being a lovely example of early appearances in the complete 3 volumes, representing a fantastic example of the complete work: Volume 1, [1909], marked Zehntes Tausend; Volume 2, [1907], marked Sechstes Tausend; Volume 3, 1908, marked 3-5 Tausend. See VOLBRACHT 1365, 1366. Volume 1 with the bookplate of American academic murderer Holmes Beckwith by Sheldon Cheney, and with minor pencil annotations to the text possibly in his hand. All three volumes with the name stamp of Maurice Colas at the gutter of the title pages.

This copy in the original publisher’s decorative cloth, with an interesting oval bookplate of J. M. P. (or some such ordering) with a tree and the motto E tenebris per umbras in lucem.
